Our goal at BLACKDIRT BEAGLES is to produce top gundogs that also will do well at the trial circuit. Our breeding is based on the BRAMLETT line of dogs. We linebreed mostly, but we will occasionally outcross to another family of dogs if it will help out our breeding program. Most of our dogs are AKC and ARHA registered. We are in the process of registering them with UKC also. We usually have a couple litters of pups each year, depending on our needs. We prefer a faster, 15" dog; ARHA LP is a good example. We mainly gunhunt, but we have a few dogs that have placed well in trials. The top three qualities that we breed for are: 1. Dog must not run offgame, 2. dog must hunt hard and hunt all day, 3. dog should have a good nose and the brain to use it.
